Construction Maintenance Assistant

$20.00 per hour, full-time

In your role as a Construction Maintenance Assistant, you're not just maintaining construction sites - you're making a vital contribution to the creation of homes that will enrich the lives of families for generations.

Key Responsibilities

Safeguarding our construction sites by maintaining cleanliness and safety andensuring each new home is presentable and “made ready” for sale throughout the construction process.

Tasks include driveway cleanout, power washing, lawn and weed maintenance, putting up a silt fence, minor frame punch, sweeping homes, making Home Depot runs for supplies, and more.

Construction Superintendent

$100,000 per year, full-time

We are currently seeking a Construction Superintendent with a B.S. in Construction Science and Management or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent. General duties and responsibilities:

  • supervising all on site construction activities and trades to ensure quality workmanship
  • conduct regular inspections of all phases of construction activity in each community
  • document and maintain a daily progress agenda for all projects
  • obtain all inspections and follow all safety laws and regulations including those from OSHA and other legally constituted parties federal, state and local.
  • partner with the Director of Purchasing and owner to ensure all aspects of the project comply with all contractual terms, timeline and budget
  • partner with other departments to help resolve warranty concerns
  • responsible for builder’s quality inspection prior to conducting the final home orientation with homeowners
  • ensure that construction is on schedule and per approved budget

Assistant Purchasing Manager

$60,000 per year, full-time
  • Bid and schedule lumber deliveries
  • Order lumber take offs
  • Prepare spec levels, bid scopes, and bid packages for vendors.
  • Build trade base to ensure bidding is done in a competitive manner.
  • Recruit and negotiate favorable terms with qualified vendors.
  • Analyze cost variances for future improvement.
  • Review and redline architectural plans.
  • Analyze construction documents for specifications & material requirements and transfer into bid specs.
  • Review field POs for approval and payment
  • Coordinate with Accounting to resolve purchase order and invoice related issues.
  • Oversee creation of accurate takeoffs.
  • Drive continual improvement in purchasing policies, implement new purchasing strategies to deliver process improvement and cost reduction.

Qualifications

  • 3 + years in homebuilding purchasing.
  • Associates of Arts (AA) degree or higher
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis on excel.
  • Experience in home construction
  • Strong and effective writing and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in SAGE 100 Contractor a plus
  • Spanish communication a plus

Part-time Staff Accountant

$22.00 - $26.00 per hour, part-time

Rivendale Homes Texas, LLC is seeking a part time bookkeeper or staff accountant, with 5+ years’ experience, to assist in standard accounting and A/P tasks, with some special project work. This position is somewhat flexible, but requires onsite work of at least 20 hours a week, anytime between the hours of 7:30am – 4:00pm. The role may expand for the right skill set.The right candidate will have a strong willingness to collaborate and partner with the accounting team to implement process improvements, document procedures, and problem solve on occasion. We are seeking a self-starter with the ability exercise good time management and organizational skills, and to adapt to the developing needs of a growing business. Attention to detail and work product accuracy are essential. You are a productive, solutions-oriented problem solver who aims for resolution without assistance, but knows when to ask for help.

Areas of responsibilities for the role are as follows:

  • Research Vendor invoices and payment history in Sage100 -Contractor Edition
  • Perform activities related to the A/P function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments using Batch Control Totals
  • Fact-check accounting data and notify senior staff of any accounting errors
  • Record financial transactions with Journal Entries
  • Assist with Document Retention Policy Management, with some light filing
  • Perform detailed and analytical monthly reconciliations and reviews of select accounts to ensure integrity of reported results and compliance with internal accounting policies.
  • Demonstrate general accounting knowledge, including awareness and understanding of general accounting standards.
  • Suggest process improvements to facilitate streamlining and automation.
  • Meet commitments and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Respond to periodic inquiries and perform ad-hoc analyses; perform special tasks and projects in relation to functional responsibilities or other areas as needed.
  • Foster collaboration within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist with Document Retention Policy Management, with some light filing

Qualifications

  • At least 5-7 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and adhere to deadlines.
  • Experience in construction accounting and or Sage 100 highly preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate relevant highlights, variances, and/or concerns.
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism and adhere to deadlines.
  • Strong transactional aptitude, analytical skills, and experience in problem solving.
  • Team player who can both take direction and show initiative as appropriate.
  • Willingness to follow policies and procedures consistently and accurately.
